Starting a limited company? We'll get the groundwork right.

Setting up a limited company only takes a few forms, but the choices you make at the start affect your tax, your paperwork and your personal liability for years. We make sure it's done right first time.

‍

We help new businesses, and sole traders ready to go limited, in Upminster, Hornchurch, Cranham, Romford, Brentwood and across Essex.

‍

Sole trader or limited company?

Being a sole trader is simple and cheap to run. A limited company keeps your personal and business money apart and can be more tax-efficient once your profits grow. We'll look at your numbers and tell you honestly which suits you better.

Should I be a sole trader or a limited company?

It depends on your profits, your plans and how much risk you carry. A limited company protects your personal assets and can save tax as profits grow, but it brings more paperwork. We'll run the numbers for you.

How long does it take to set up a limited company?

Once everything is ready, Companies House often registers a new company within a day or two. Identity checks for directors need to be done too, and we'll guide you through them.

Do company directors need to verify their identity?

Yes. Since November 2025, directors and people with significant control must verify their identity with Companies House. New companies can't be set up without it.

What do I need to do after my company is set up?

Register for corporation tax within 3 months of trading, open a business bank account, set up payroll if you'll draw a salary, and keep proper records. We can handle all of it.

Can you help me switch from sole trader to limited company?

Yes. We'll set up the new company, move your business across properly and file your final sole trader tax return, so nothing falls through the gaps.
